Valle Verde Children’s Center is a 501(c)3 that provides before, after school and summer programs. They provide children with a safe, fun and nurturing environment in which to expose them to areas such as art, music, sports, science, cooking and computers.
VVCC’s primary need was online registration. When looking at the feature that they hoped to implement (based on other sites that do similar things), we determined that we could give them a solution that was far more usable.
Digging into VVCC’s online registration requirements, they needed to support a variety of options such as registration for up to 4 children in any possible mix of 10 weekly sessions. Each weekly session could be full day, half day (am or pm) or any combination of selected days. Breakfast options per day were also required as was a weekly special event or field trip. In addition to this, pricing varied by sibling and by signup month (discounts for additional siblings and for early registration).
We put an intuitive, performant solution in place to track registrations with any combination of options that provided automatic totaling of order and user and admin notification. VVCC may also look into taking payment directly on the site in the future.
In addition to the online registration, we also gave them a solution to support their many, very large photo galleries, redesigned the layout of their site, gave them a news/blog feature, integrated their newsletter and implemented a testimonials feature. We also implemented social platforms, Google Analytics and advanced SEO (search engine optimization) capabilities.
The site was done on WordPress and built using the Genesis platform and the Metro Pro theme. It includes HTML5 markup and is mobile responsive.
